Endorsement codes are as follows:
(A) Environmental Air Conditioning-E;
(B) Commercial Refrigeration and Process Cooling or Heating-R;
(C) Combined Endorsements-C.
A holder of Class A license with the proper endorsement may perform air conditioning and refrigeration work on any size equipment.
A holder of a Class B license with the proper endorsement may perform air conditioning and refrigeration work in a building or a complex of buildings having more than one air conditioning or heating unit. The combined cooling capacity of the units may exceed 25 tons and heating capacity may exceed 1.5 million Btu/h, as long as each complete individual unit does not exceed the capacities stated above.
“Environmental air conditioning” means treating air to control temperature, humidity, cleanliness, ventilation, and circulation to meet human comfort requirements.
“Commercial refrigeration” means the use of mechanical or absorption equipment to control temperature or humidity to satisfy the intended use of a specific space.
“Process cooling or heating” includes controlling temperature, humidity, or cleanliness solely for production requirements or the proper operation of equipment.
